Kissing couples needed to set new world record

news: Kissing couples needed to set new world record

Portugal is trying to set a new world record for the largest number of couples kissing simultaneously on February 16.

The event, to be held in Lisbon, aims to mark St Valentine’s Day but, above all, it is an opportunity to enter the Guinness World Records.

So, grab your partner (or find one!) and head for the Belém gardens at 4.30pm on the day and prepare for the moment – at 6pm. A 10-second kiss is enough, say organisers, a toothpaste company.

In order to set a new record, around 9,000 couples are needed as the previous record, set in Brazil in 2009, saw 8,372 couples accepting the challenge.

A representative of the Guinness Records will be recording the results on the day.
