Kiosks boycott newspapers

Various kiosks selling newspapers and magazines will be ‘boycotting titles’ from next week in protest to new charges being levied by distributor VASP. The first title to be taken off the shelves will be the country’s best-selling tabloid Correio da Manhã, followed by best-selling ‘weekly’ paper Expresso. VASP’s decision to charge €1.50 per day to each sales point in the country follows what the company calls “the elevated drop in sales through 2020 which caused damages of €2.5 million.”
