Local driver Ricardo Teodosio emerged the surprise winner of the 40th Casinos do Algarve Rally in Monchique last weekend.
His Mitsubishi EVO IV left better fancied rivals Pedro Meireles and João Silva, who finished second and third, in his wake as he went on to take the closing event of the national championship season in 1h11m 54s.
Due to the current economic situation, the 2011 edition of this race was curtailed to one day’s competition on Saturday as opposed to the customary weekend-long schedule.
