Kids soccer team hope to play in Junior World Cup

The junior soccer team Benjamins do Portimonense is seeking financial support to play for the first time in the Mundialito de Futebol tournament which will take place next March in Vila Real de Santo António and Ayamonte in Spain.

The entry fee for the competition is €6,000 and so far the club has raised 50% and hoping to obtain the support of parents or sponsors to find the rest.

Trainer Vilson Alves said: “This year we are at the moment in first place in the championship league and we have a good team. The participation of the youngsters in this tournament is a unique opportunity.”
