Almancil International Rotary Club and the Rotary Club of Silves recently held the first of many planned joint meetings at Bobby Jones Bar & Grill in Quinta do Lago.
The meeting was particularly important as Rotary Club of Silves’ newest member, Simon Rose, received his pin from Isabel Flores, President of RC Silves.
The guest speaker was Rotarian Frederico Nascimento, previous President of the Portuguese Rotary Foundation.
He spoke of the importance of the foundation, particularly in regard to scholarships for young people wishing to enjoy the opportunity of further education, and encouraged all Rotary clubs to make donations to this most worthwhile of causes.
