TASTE THE delicious, hot roasted chestnuts and enjoy the new wine at traditional Portuguese harvest festival celebrations taking place across the Algarve this autumn.
Villages, towns and cities will be enlivened this November when the chestnut harvests will be celebrated with wine and song. Magustos Populares, harvest celebrations open to the public, will be taking place next month in Marmelete (Monchique) on November 1, at Adro da Igreja at 3pm and, on the same day, in Alferce (Monchique) alongside the Casa do Povo at 2pm. Celebrations will continue on November 11, in Tavira, at the Mercado da Ribeira at 4.30pm and in Silves in Largo do Município at 4pm.
Finally, on November 12, there will be a party in Chinicato (Lagos) at the Polidesportivo at 2pm. Eat, drink, dance and be merry!
