Join the run of a lifetime in aid of cancer

Running a marathon is an amazing feat but British fundraiser Hugh Williams-Preece will be taking the term endurance to a new level when he attempts to run 50 marathons in 50 days starting his journey in Lisbon on March 3.

Hugh describes himself as an ordinary man but this is an extraordinary challenge that will see him pass through Portugal, Spain and France before finishing in the UK, if all goes well, on April 21 in London.

“Last year I was at my wife´s family home in the Alentejo and I thought to myself “I wonder if I could run home from here?” When I returned, I went to see a trainer and he deemed it possible although slightly insane!” said Hugh Williams-Preece.

Hugh will be raising money along his journey for the UK cancer charity Marie Curie: “What the Marie Curie nurses do is extraordinary and I believe that cancer affects everyone either directly or indirectly so I have always been affiliated with cancer charities.”

Currently Hugh and his team are looking for runners to join them in any of the marathon legs.
