THE LIONS Clube de Loulé are pleased to announce that their Sale in April raised nearly 600 euros, all proceeds going towards fire protection suits for the Loulé Bombeiros.
For more than 15 years, the Loulé Lions have also held a Garden Party in the month of June, and this year will be no exception. This is their main fundraising event and, for the second year, all proceeds will go to the Loulé Bombeiros. So far, the Lions have already presented them with 12 full fire-protection suits costing around 1,000 euros each.
Again this June, the Lions hope to attract as many people as possible to enjoy their main fundraising event of the year. The Garden Party will be held on Sunday, June 18, at the Restaurant Jardim do Vale, Vale Formosa, in Almancil, from 2.30pm to 6pm, and Clive Dunn, fondly remembered as Lance Corporal Jones in Dad’s Army, will be appearing and singing autographs. Music will be provided by DJ Mike Bristow and students from the São Lourenço International School. A ladies fashion show will be hosted by Collections. There will be a grand draw with many super prizes, sideshows, tombola, refreshments and the sale of clothes, bric-a-brac, plants and much more.
Restaurante Jardim do Vale is a new venue and easy to find. From the centre of Almancil, taking the Loulé road, past the GNR station and up the long hill into Vale Formoso, Jardim do Vale is on the right, opposite the road to Vale de Éguas and the A22. Come along and support the Lions and have a great afternoon for all the family. For further details, call 289 416 659.
