The popular annual ‘Jim Player Golf Tourney’ was held recently on behalf of Commercial Union and Victoria Seguros.
This is the twelfth year for the golfers, some of whom have been competing since the tournament began. The weather was kind and sunny and the field started promptly at 8.30am with a ‘shotgun’ start. Over the years, this event has become not only a competition to enjoy, but also a ‘catch-up’ with old friends.
This time, four players from Victoria Seguros played their second competition and picked up prizes – José Ramalho and Luís Braga were defending their first place from last year, aided by Ian Findley and Mick Dunne, but sixth place was all they could manage.
First place was achieved with an excellent score of 61, net 56.4. For those not familiar with golf scores, this meant they scored 11 under par. Contributed
