THREE PEOPLE attempted to defraud a jewellery shop in Carvoeiro on Saturday, December 20, after they tried to purchase goods with a value of more than 57,000 euros with a fraudulent cheque.
The two men and a woman were detained by police at a villa in the Carvoeiro area after it was discovered the cheque was not valid.
A spokesman from Carvoeiro GNR told The Resident: “We can confirm the fraud and that the suspects will now be heard in court.”
