Jet2 cancels flights and holidays to Portugal and Spain until early 2021

Jet2 and Jet2holidays are cancelling a number of flights and holidays to three destinations across Portugal and Spain until early 2021.

The UK-based travel giants have made the decision “due to ongoing uncertainty for travel plans during the pandemic”, as well as restrictions in place to both holiday hotspots.
Flights and holidays to the Algarve will be suspended from November 1, reports the UK press today, through to February 10 next year.

Schedules affected in Spain involve Malaga and Alicante airports.

Jet2 will continue however to offer ‘a revised schedule of flights to Portugal’ until the 31st October 2020.

The company announced the news on its official Twitter page, and said that it would be in touch with customers affected by the changes – stressing refunds will be ‘automatic’.

Holidaymakers who choose to rebook trips instead of receiving refunds will be offered a £100 discount for departures up until March 31, 2021, say reports.

Meantime, passengers due to fly up to the October 31 who no longer wish to do so can opt to rebook their trip with no admin fee.

Portugal briefly enjoyed a travel corridor with UK last summer, but it came crashing down after less than three weeks, and shows no sign of being lifted anytime soon.
