Jazz returns to Silves wine cellars

‘Jazz nas Adegas’, an event that combines jazz music and local wines into one unique experience, is returning to Silves for its second edition in 2018.

The event was held successfully for the first time this year, allowing local wine producers to showcase their creations at their own cellars while at the same time using jazz music to make the experience more unique.

There will be eight sessions taking place between January and April next year at nearly all of the borough’s wine cellars.

The first will take place on Saturday, January 13 at Quinta João Clara in Alcantarilha, with Low Tech Groove as the performers of the night.

The following events will be held at Convento do Paraíso on January 20 (musical guests being Jazz à Capela), at Quinta do Francês on February 10 (Chustinatra), at Quinta do Barradas on February 24 (Power Trio) and at Quinta do Barranco Longo in Algoz on March 10 (P.L.I.N.T.).

There will also be sessions at Quinta da Vinha on March 17 (Badalo Quarteto), at Quinta do Outeiro on April 7 (Alexandre Dahmen Trio) and at Quinta da Malaca in Pêra on April 14 (Yanina Mantuano).

Tickets cost €10 and allow guests to enjoy the concert, try the wines, take a bottle home and also receive vouchers for the municipal castle and museum.

Reservations open a month before each event.
