The last concerts of this edition take place at the Adega do Convento do Paraíso in Silves, with a “Gipsy Jazz” concert on September 8 and 9.
The 6th edition of Jazz nas Adegas is coming to a close with its last two concerts. The last sessions of the season will take place on September 8 and 9, at 21:00 and 17:00, respectively, at Quinta de Mata Mouros – Adega do Convento do Paraíso in Silves.
Music band Manouche Station will be the closing act of the popular annual jazz and wine event. The Gipsy Jazz quartet will treat concertgoers to a repertoire of contagious 20s and 30s tunes, a tribute to the legendary musicians of the Hot Club de France, Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, portraying the bohemian spirit, glamour and fun that accompanied this musical genre.
The group is composed of João Novais (Double bass), Paulo Rosa (Guitar “Petit Bouche”), Gonçalo Mendonça (Guitar “Petit Bouche”) and Filipe Santos (Violin).
The event, organised by the municipality of Silves, aims to boost and promote wine production in the region in partnership with participating Silves Wine Producers, the Silves Sul School Group and the Algarve’s Barmen Association.
Tickets cost €20 and can be purchased here and at “the usual ticket offices”. In addition to the concert, a wine tasting of the producer’s vintages, a tapas tasting of local products, a voucher to visit Silve’s Castle and Municipal Museum of Archaeology, and a complimentary bottle of wine are included with the ticket.
The event is intended for concertgoers aged 18 and over.
