The auditorium at the Caixa Agrícola bank in São Bartolomeu de Messines is hosting the OJA Jazz Fest 2011 today (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday).
This initiative is co-produced by the Jazz Orchestra of the Algarve (OJA) and supported by Silves Câmara.
Today, the Diogo Vida quartet Alegria will take to the stage. Completing this quartet is saxophonist Mário Santos, double bass player Filipe Teixeira and drummer João Cunha.
Tomorrow sees one of the most acclaimed jazz guitarists in Portugal, Nuno Ferreira, on stage. With Manuel Brito on double bass, José Marrucho on drums and João Mortágua on saxophone, the quartet will focus on original themes rooted in jazz traditions.
Both shows start at 10pm and entry to each concert costs €6.
