Jazz fest brings renowned musicians to Lagoa

The 15th Lagoa Jazz Fest returns to the atmospheric Sítio das Fontes in Estômbar from June 28 to 30, bringing several renowned jazz musicians to the Algarve.

The event will see the French trio of André Charlier (drums and percussion), Louis Winsberg (guitar) and Benoît Sourisse (organ) taking the stage on the opening day to present their latest record ‘Tales from Michael’.

On June 29, the Russian LRK Trio consisting of pianist Evgeny Lebedev, bassist Anton Revnyuk and drummer Ignat Kravtsov will be taking the stage followed by American jazz singer J.D. Walter.

The festival will come to a close on June 30 with performances from national duo Cláudio Alves and Gonçalo Sousa and the international trio of Roberto Taufic (Brazil), Fausto Beccalossi (Italy) and Carlos Buschini (Argentina) who will be presenting their ‘Tres Mundos’ album.

Says the local council, the event has received “positive reviews from specialised press, the public and the national and international artists who performed”.

Tickets cost €10 and can be purchased at the usual outlets (Ticketline, Worten and FNAC) or in Lagoa at the council’s Balcão Único and at the São José convent.
