Nine local choral groups will be performing traditional Portuguese songs known as ‘Janeiras’ at the historic Teatro Mascarenhas Gregório in Silves on January 5.
‘Janeiras’ are traditionally sung on town streets and door-to-door to celebrate the birth of Jesus and the coming of a new year.
Organised by the local council, the concert is free and begins at 8.30pm.
