Carlos do Carmo auditorium hosts ‘Festa do Tango’
Lagoa’s Carlos do Carmo auditorium will host a tango party ‘Festa do Tango’ courtesy of Argentine tango group La Porteña Tango on Saturday, June 4.
The event will begin with a workshop at 4pm, free to attend for those who have purchased a ticket for the group’s live performance later that night at 9pm.
However, it is limited to just 20 participants so those interested must request the form to sign up as soon as possible by email ([email protected]) or in person at the auditorium or São José convent. Women are advised to bring high-heeled shoes while men are advised to wear classic shoes.
Interactivity will be a part of the main show at night as well, as the group will invite the audience to join them for a ‘milonga’ – a unique style of Argentine dance.
Tickets cost €10 and can be purchased online at www.ticketline.sapo.pt or at Fnac, Worten and the ticket offices at the auditorium, the São José convent and Lagoa’s Balcão Único. A 20% discount is available for holders of Lagoa’s cultural passport, social card and Rota do Petisco 2021 passport.
La Porteña is a group of musicians and dancers who have recorded five albums and one DVD, produced by renowned Argentine musician Litto Nebbia.
The group has performed live in over 20 countries, bringing its own twist of tango to four continents.
