Organisers are calling on restaurants and eateries all over the Algarve to sign up for the 10th Rota do Petisco (Tapas Route) which will take place between May 1 and 31, 2020.
Teia D’Impulsos, the association that organises the event, is promising “some surprises” for this special edition and is encouraging restaurants, bars, pastry shops and other eateries to sign up and be a part of it.
When it was launched, the Rota was only held in Portimão. It has since expanded to the whole Algarve, being hailed by organisers as the region’s “biggest gastronomic event”.
In a nutshell, the event is a “gastronomic route” that features restaurants and eateries offering a variety of tapas-sized dishes and desserts at lower prices, from €2 to €3, including a drink.
“This is an event that celebrates the flavours of the Algarve,” says the association, adding that it is also an initiative that aims to promote local restaurants and businesses and the Algarve’s traditional cuisine while also bringing life to the region outside of the busy summer season.
