SEPTEMBER SEES the beginning a new musical season for the Orquestra do Algarve.
The orchestra will be performing the music of Mozart and Lopes-Graça at the Igreja do Carmo in Tavira tonight, Friday, September 8, at 10pm and tomorrow (Saturday 9), there will be a performance at the Centro Cultural de Lagos at 9.30pm. Then it is off to Brussels, as the orchestra has been invited by Algarvean Euro MP, Jamília Madeira, to perform on September 13 at the European Parliament building, in the afternoon and at Église Sainte-Croix in the evening.
Music by such great composers as Bach, Dittersdorf and Haydn can be heard at the Auditório Municipal de Albufeira on September 22 at 9.30pm and at the Igreja Matriz de Portimão on September 23, also at 9.30pm. There will be performances in Tavira at the Igreja da Misericórdia on September 27 at 7pm and at the Ruínas de Milreu in Estoi on September 28, also at 7pm. The month closes with the orchestra travelling to Beja in the Alentejo, where they will be performing at the Auditório do Instituto Politécnico.
