A band of 100 volunteers are expected to help in a clean-up operation tomorrow (Saturday) on the island of Culatra, one of the islands near Faro. The exercise has been organised by the nature conservation institute (Instituto de Conservação da Natureza e das Florestas) in conjunction with the local municipal authority, businesses and inhabitants. Transport and lunch are provided and the boat leaves from the commercial quay (Cais Comercial de Faro) at 9am (meet 8.30am). Collection of rubbish and debris starts at 10am with a break for lunch, with the boat returning to Faro at 5.30pm.
