Island Café under new management

Diners looking for quality bistro food are able to enjoy a new menu and surroundings at The Island Cafe at Presa de Moura in Sesmarias between Carvoeiro and Ferragudo.

The stylish cafe has been revamped with a new-look bar and internationally inspired bistro menu, with chef Peter Verelst and Bianca Salden of O Leão restaurant in Porches now in charge of the cafe.

Bianca Salden told the Algarve Resident: “We officially opened the doors to the public on January 21 and welcomed guests to come and see the renovated cafe.”

She added: “We chose new colours to make the bar a more cosy and inviting environment and while we have kept salads on the menu, we have changed many items to make this an ideal choice for families during the day and bistro customers during the evening.”

While O Leão in Porches is famed for its gourmet food, the Island Cafe has been designed as a more everyday choice for diners looking for a difference.

“Our concept is to appeal to those who perhaps don’t feel like cooking and want to try something different. We have tapas choices on the menu and also serve a range of pancakes and ice cream for the afternoons,” said Bianca.

For bistro food for all the family the Island Cafe, with ample parking, is a great new choice in the central Algarve.
