Isabel dos Santos returns to shake-up Portugal’s business world

After her abortive attempt to purchase Portugal Telecom, Isabel dos Santos, daughter of the president of Angola is reported to be preparing a counter bid for BPI – in response to the public acquisition offer (OPA) presented by Spain’s Caixabank. Designed to create a merger with BCP, it would effectively take BPI out of ‘race’ to buy Novo Banco, and see the largest bank in Portugal with Angolans as principal investors if successful, writes Observador.
