Irish way of life

The St. Patrick’s Society of the Algarve is open to all nationalities who have an interest in or enjoy the Irish way of life, sense of humour and enjoyment.

Music concerts, lawn bowling days, dinners, barbeques, Irish dancing lessons, quiz nights and even dolphin watching boat trips are part of the society’s programme, along with raising money and materials for the Castelo dos Sonhos, a Silves-based charity supporting thousands of disadvantaged adults and children throughout central and western Algarve.

Events planned for 2007 are a Ceilidh with the St. Andrews Society, a bowls day on June 22, a visit to the Donana bird sanctuary near Huelva, the annual end of summer party and the ongoing monthly programme of walks. From October, traditional Irish dancing classes will also be held.
