Irish Algarve wedding

Irish Algarve wedding

A total of 92 people flew over from Cork, Ireland, to attend the wedding of Shane and Sinead O’Mahoney. They married at the Santa Maria Church in Lagos (the historical church dates back to the 16th century) on Friday April 25, Portugal’s Revolution Day.
It was a beautiful sunny afternoon, and the wedding couple, their guests and the assembled crowd of locals and holidaymakers were treated to the Western Algarve Choir singing ‘All you need is Love’ who were there as a special surprise.
Shane and Sinead chose Lagos to marry because they loved the place after visiting Sinead’s sister, who has an apartment near the old Lagos railway station. Their reception took place at the new Cascades resort near Ponte de Piedade.
The Western Algarve Choir meets every two weeks at Almadena Hall. Anyone is welcome to join. For information, contact Elizabeth Roberts on [email protected]
