FASHION designers should be aware that they have some serious contenders for their jobs in the coming years, as young students from the International Preparatory School (IPS) in Carcavelos showed recently. The pupils were given the task of designing hats and T-shirts and then showing their creations at a fashion parade at the school. The Resident was invited, along with parents, to the event and spoke to some of the students. They told us how they had to think of a design, put it on paper, create the hat or T-shirt and then have the confidence to show it to an audience. They all agreed that it made them proud to show off their ability to design.
