THE ALGARVE Tourism Board (RTA) has urged entrepreneurs to meet the challenge and participate in the upcoming tourism fair ‘Algarve Convida’ (Algarve Invitation), designed to attract more Portuguese holidaymakers to the region. The fair will take place on April 8 and 9 in Lisbon’s Pavilhão Atlântico.
Hélder Martins, president of the RTA, heralded the event as an exclusive fair that will lead to the promotion of the Algarve. Martins said that hoteliers should promote not only their summer holiday deals, but also long weekend and mini-break packages. They will also have the opportunity to establish contacts with national and foreign tour operators, some of whom will be invited by the RTA. Together with the gastronomic programme, organised in conjunction with the RTA and local authorities, ‘Algarve Convida’ will be a fair to remember.
The event will be advertised in the media, as well as on billboards, car stickers and direct mailings to a million Lisbon households.
