Invisible riding

Long time readers may remember Sylvia Loch, who lived with her late husband, Lord Henry Loch, at their quinta near Loulé, and promoted both the Lusitano horse and classical riding. Since then, Sylvia has produced some excellent books and videos and is much in demand worldwide as a judge and for training clinics. Now Sylvia is returning to the Algarve to present an unusual clinic at the Pinetrees Riding Centre, Almancil, on Saturday, September 25. Entitled ‘Invisible Riding’, the clinic is held unmounted and lasts for about two and a half hours.

The aim is to help riders understand the use and importance of weight aids through improved body awareness and how subtle, but necessary, changes in position help horses to move with more grace and agility. A dinner is planned at a local restaurant after the clinic and will be an ideal opportunity for any old friends to meet Sylvia again. Places on both the clinic and at the dinner are limited, so please contact Pinetrees for more information: e-mail [email protected] or telephone 289 394 369 or 919 363 190.
