Internationally renowned tango dancers Clo de Castro and Alison Valé have recently confirmed their presence for the 4th Grande Variety Show on Sunday, December 5 at Lagoa Auditorium.
The couple, who have appeared at some of the most prestigious venues in the world including The Royal Albert Hall and The Moulin Rouge, will be performing Argentinean Tango at the Algarve event.
Lagoa Câmara is again donating the use of the Auditorium for the show and many local artists are giving freely of their time, which is why the organisers continue to stage the Grand Night of Variety charity shows each year.
Along with Argentinean Tango, the show, compéred by Ian Carfrae, will also be presenting The New Orleans Jazz Band playing Dixie, popular singer and guitarist Daryl Bye, The Stars Dancers and classical pianist Silvia Smemen, who will be accompanying violinist Bernard Schluender and baritone soloist Trevor Herrington.
There are other artists still to be confirmed and during the show a prize raffle will be called.
Organiser Jenny Grainer told the Algarve Resident: “The local voluntary fire and ambulance services are the chosen charity and proving to be a popular service to support, showing how very conscious residents are of the invaluable work they do in the community.”
Representatives of Lagoa Bombeiros will be present on the night and you can become a member of the voluntary force or collect a membership form on the night. “Annual donations would greatly support their work and entitle you to many benefits,” said Jenny.
Doors open for collection of tickets from 7pm with the show starting at 8pm.
