Students from the International School of the Algarve, along with members of Lagoa-based Ideias do Levante chamber choir, will be performing a Christmas Opera entitled Christmas Is at the Lagoa auditorium on December 5 and 6.
Organised by the director of music at the international school, Gita Nasta, the opera tells the Christmas story from a different angle with characters including a frightening King Herod with his comical Grand Vizier ,among others.
The cast of this production includes 35 young singers from the international school and 15 adult singers from the Ideais do Levante chamber choir.
The first performance of the show is due to start at 8.30pm on December 5, with a second showing from 3pm on December 6.
Entry to the performance is free but tickets must be reserved by contacting the international school on 282 342 547.
These can then be picked up from the auditorium on the day of the performances or from the São José convent in Lagoa from November 23.
