Tavira municipal sports centre (Pavilhão Dr. Eduardo Mansinho) will be hosting the International Multi-styles Martial Arts Seminar 2018 on April 28 and 29. The event is organised by the Portuguese National Ju-Jitsu Federation (FNJP), with the support of Tavira Ju-Jitsu Club and the Tavira town hall.
Organisers say this is “a high-profile event with a remarkably broad scope” and will be attended by presidents, instructors and athletes from a variety of federations and associations, both national and international. The seminar organisers are expecting to welcome more than 400 participants from countries such as Canada, Finland, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Sweden and the United States.
The event not only features on the official sports programme for Tavira municipality but also forms part of the celebrations to mark the 20th anniversary of the founding of FNJP as an association.
Also supporting the seminar are the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth (IPDJ), as well as a number of local sponsors.
The official programme starts at 7.30pm on Friday, April 27 with a formal opening ceremony and reception in the Salão Nobre of the town hall. The sporting activities at Pavilhão Dr. Eduardo Mansinho are scheduled to run from 10am to 6pm on Saturday, April 28 and from 10am to 1pm on Sunday, April 29.
