An atmosphere of celebration and friendship is awaiting visitors to this year’s FOLKFARO, a festival featuring several international folk dance groups in Faro from August 17 to 25.
An opening gala will take place at the municipal theatre on August 17 at 9.30pm with performances by all the dance groups participating in the festival. Tickets for this event cost €10 and can be purchased at the Teatro das Figuras.
A variety of events, ranging from dance workshops and street performances to special programmes for children and the elderly, also promise to make FOLKFARO 2013 one of the main cultural attractions in the Algarve’s summer calendar.
There will also be a show every night at the Passeio da Doca stage in Faro, starting at 10pm.
Organisers of the event, Grupo Folclórico de Faro, has received support from the municipal authority, the parish councils of Faro and the municipal theatre in order to be able to stage this year’s event.
