However difficult the decision was for former BPP president João Rendeiro to dodge Portuguese justice (click here), the reality is that there is now an international arrest warrant out in his name – and it may well prove meaningless as he has sought refuge in a country with no extradition agreement in place with Portugal. Tabloid Correio da Manhã first suggested Mr Rendeiro was in Brazil; it now seems he is in Singapore – a country where his wife is reported to have “relevant deposits”.
