A new Intermarché supermarket is opening in Monchique on March 14.
The store, by Grupo Os Mosqueteiros, will cover 1,000sqm and employ 30 staff.
A spokesman for the supermarket told the Algarve Resident: “The decision to open a new store was to respond to the needs of the local people as there is no other supermarket of this scale in the area.
“We are also delighted that we have been able to provide jobs for the local people as all our staff are from Monchique.
To celebrate the opening, customers will benefit from special promotions on a variety of products.
Intermarché is located just after the petrol station in Monchique, at Asseiceira, Pé da Cruz.
