Balthazar Nunes, one of the experts from INSA who has been advising the government throughout the pandemic, reports that studies published show vaccine effectiveness falls against infection after 12 to 24 weeks, particularly in the elderly. For now, he says, the vaccines offer a 70% shield against infections, 95% when it comes to hospitalisations.
