A ‘Back to School’ campaign has been launched by ACCA, the Algarve children’s charity, to help underprivileged children in the local area.
The project aims to enable needy children to return to school this month, equipped with essential items for their success.
Many children in situations of poverty all across the Algarve currently do not have the simple supplies to get them through the school year, items as basic as paper, pencils and rulers; that make a child’s school years count.
ACCA is appealing to all individuals and organisations that are in the position to assist, so that these needy children are given a chance to succeed.
All items donated will be distributed directly to the children by the charity.
Drop off points can be found at Casa Curiosa on the EN125 near Almancil and at the International School São Lourenço.
School supplies needed are as follows: A4 sized folders, A3 sized folders with elastic, rulers, protractors, A3 drawing paper, A4 writing paper, calculators, painting brushes and paint, pens, colouring pencils, note pads, compasses, scissors, rubbers, felt tipped pens, corrector pens, pencil sharpeners, musical recorders, coloured card, plus anything else used in the schooling environment.
As the upcoming academic year is fast approaching, it is asked that any items for donation are received as early as possible.
