Infrastructures minister admits TAP will close without Brussels ‘green light’ for restructuring

Infrastructures minister Pedro Nuno Santos has admitted today that without Brussels’ green light for the billion euro restructuring package for flagship airline TAP, the airline will be forced into closure. He reinforced the government’s “confidence” that the plane will be approved by the end of the year. In the PS mindset, investment in TAP is “very important” he said, recognising nonetheless that “the majority of Portuguese” have not yet “understood this fact”.
