Inflation likely to push even more people into poverty in Portugal

A new study has shown that inflation is likely to push another 115,000 citizens into situations of  ‘poverty’. Dinheiro Vivo explains “inflation could place more than two million Portuguese below the poverty line” – when it is already well established that one in every five nationals are already there. The European Investment Bank however believes the percentage, compared to last year’s numbers, will increase by another 1.2 points, taking totals to 21.17% of the population.
