Inflation in Europe ‘on right track’ to lowering interest rates – president

Portugal’s president Marcelo believes that inflation “is on the right track” in Europe. In the Algarve yesterday, he called on economists to be more open-minded, alluding to the possibility of lowering interest rates, writes Lusa. Marcelo was speaking to journalists in Faro, on the sidelines of the national meeting of the strategy for the integration of homeless people. He was referring to the decreases in the year-on-year rate of change in the Consumer Price Index and the year-on-year rate of inflation in the euro zone announced earlier in the day.
