Inflation drops slightly in September

The year-on-year rate of change in the Consumer Price Index was 3.6% in September, 0.1 percentage points less than in August, according to the flash estimate released by Statistics Portugal (INE) on Friday.

According to INE, the underlying inflation indicator (total index excluding unprocessed food and energy products) recorded a change of 4.1% (4.5% in the previous month).

In September, the change in the index for energy products stood at -4.1% (-6.5% in the previous month) and the index for unprocessed food products fell to 6.0% (6.4% in August).
