STEPH, the syndicate of emergency pre-hospital technicians, is on strike today, with its members scheduling a protest outside INEM’s headquarters in Lisbon from 11am. Reasons include the demand for “decent wages” and the opening of employment ‘concourses’ to attract more professionals. These are issues that the syndicate has been requesting for months. STEPH is also concerned by the slow pace of training given, and poor level of emergency equipment, writes Lusa.
