Indian minister V. K. Singh said at an economic forum this week that Portugal is “full of investment opportunities, especially in the agricultural, technological and tourism sectors”.
“We have to look into these opportunities seriously and see how we can cooperate. If not, then we (India) will become isolated,” the foreign affairs minister said.
The statements came during a forum organised by the self-described “independent think tank” Horasis in Cascais on Monday (July 4), under the motto “What’s next for the EU-India relationship?”
Also attending the forum was Portuguese economy minister Manuel Caldeira Cabral who welcomed the idea of Indian investment and said it was definitely in Portugal’s interest.
“Here, investors can find open minds, very good English speakers and great talents. I hope that good deals can be made in Portugal,” he said.
