Increased passengers

Faro airport registered an increase in passengers of 14.6% over the second quarter of 2011 in comparison with the same period in 2010.

According to the data collated by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), all the airports in Portugal saw increases in passenger numbers, with Porto boasting a 25.3% increase between April and June 2011.

The majority of passengers using the national airports continues to be Portuguese  passengers (43.2%) with the next largest passenger group being those from the UK (17.9%) followed by Irish passengers, who represented 14.8% of all passengers.
