Dear Editor,
With reference to your article regarding foreign retirees taxation. Now I am totally confused having paid taxes in Portugal since 2006 on a company pension and UK state pension now find myself facing a tax bill for 2011 four times greater than 2010.
If this is an incentive to encourage foreign retirees to live in Portugal then it is not very encouraging.
If fact if this situation is not clarified soon then I for one would have to consider my options because it is getting stupid.
