Police were alerted by friends and family of Algarve national golf champion António Rosado after the 25-year-old disappeared during the middle of last week.
Rosado represented Portugal at various youth levels before turning professional in 2007 and becoming the youngest national title holder ever in July of last year.
Extensive searches of the Vilamoura-Loule area proved fruitless but the story had a happy end when Rosado returned home late on Sunday night explaining that he had just needed “some space and time” to resolve personal problems.
