World Cup rhythmic gymnastics was the big attraction at the Portimão Arena at the weekend. More than 600 of the sport’s top performers from 43 countries were competing for all-important international ranking points – a huge improvement on the 20 athletes of six different nationalities who attended the event’s humble beginnings in 1986.
