Immigrant associations receive support

THE PORTUGUESE government is to give more than 360,000 euros to immigrant associations in order to support the integration of young people. A total of 20 associations will receive funds. According to Bernardo Sousa, coordinator of the office of technical support for immigrant associations (ACIME), the Casa do Brasil and the Immigrant Solidarity Association will be the main beneficiaries, each receiving 35,000 euros. Sousa said there were more than 30 requests for support this year and the Consultative Council for Immigration Affairs selected 20.
