Illegal parties: young people are renting properties for parties “up and down country”

With the ‘stay at home’ order in place throughout Portugal until after Easter, the truth is that young people still want to party. Situations where youngsters have rented properties in order to hold gatherings have been flagged up and down the country, say reports. From Loulé in the Algarve to Cascais, Salvaterra de Magos (Santarém district) and Santo Tirso in the north. The ‘tell-tale signs’ that tend to sound the alerts have been ‘noise’, leading homeowners in the various areas to call authorities. All those identified have been ‘fined’ a minimum of €200 each.
