Designer Outlet Algarve is opening at the IKEA complex in Loulé on Thursday, November 23.
Described as the “biggest fashion outlet in the Algarve and the first in Europe to be integrated in an IKEA store”, the outlet will feature over 50 fashion and lifestyle brands running “permanent discounts of up to 70%”.
The open-air outlet, managed by ROS Retail Outlet Shopping, will cover a 17,000sqm area with architecture “inspired by typical Algarvean villages”.
“It is with great pleasure that we bring an international concept to Portugal and the Algarve which is adapted to the characteristics of the region,” said Thomas Reichenauer, director of ROS Retail Outlet Shopping.
He added: “We couldn’t be more proud of this partnership with IKEA Centres and we are ready to receive and inspire everyone with the opening of an innovative and unique concept in Portugal.”
General manager of the Outlet, Miguel Guerreiro, also said that besides the permanent discounts, visitors will also be able to enjoy exclusive events throughout the year in a bid to showcase the Algarve outside of the summer months and bolster fashion as one of the attractions of the Algarve.
Guerreiro, native to the Algarve, has worked for 15 years in the fashion and luxury industries.
“It makes me proud to be part of a project that was inspired by the typical Algarve environment, and which aims to showcase the potential of the region as a year-round destination,” he said.
Designer Outlet Algarve will be the last main section of the €200 million mega complex to open for business, after IKEA’s own store which opened in March and the MAR Shopping Algarve mall which opened in October.
