Iceland re-opens store

Iceland supermarket in Guia, Albufeira, has re-opened following some issues with labelling.

Updated information has been added to product labelling, such as country of origin, storage and cooking instructions, which was approved by an inspector.

A spokesman for Iceland said they have made every effort to adhere to the Portuguese laws regarding such matters and want to thank the staff as well as the customers for their support and loyalty, “which has been overwhelming”.

The incident, the company says, will not deter it from strengthening its presence in Portugal and they will work with all government bodies to ensure they continue to meet legal standards.
