Iberian lynx could be ‘back from risk of extinction’ by 2040

News from TSF radio this morning is that “doing our homework in Silves’ national centre for the reproduction of the Iberian Lynx, we counted the number of animals that have been born in captivity, those born in the wild, subtracted those that could die on the roads and multiplied everything by a dose of good luck: the Iberian Lynx could stop being a threatened species within the next 20 years”. As the station concludes, it shows how ‘in a few decades’ with effort and goodwill by two neighbouring countries, a species that had almost disappeared can be brought back from the brink.
